About Cornelia

Born 1970 in Sweden, she left searching for some "adventure, sun and light" and came to California in 1995 with her sister .
Growing up in Sweden with it's cold and long winters allowed time for plenty of arts and crafts. Her parents were both very creative
with various projects such as painting, doll making, sculpting, knitting, weaving, woodwork and photography.

Cornelia started painting as a hobby in 2001. Her "daytime job" is in the dental field for which she went to school in Sweden.
Dentistry involves her two passions- working with her hands and with people.

Cornelia lives in Los Angeles with her sister, boyfriend and dogs....loving every sunny moment of it!

Still experimenting, she uses the human body in an abstract way and paints with vibrant and intense colors to express emotion and mood.
Her inspiration comes from a personal reflection on the interactions between people and their surroundings.
She tries to express the constant exchange of positive and negative energy that life is...

Sacred geometry , the Divine feminine and symbolism has always been a fascination of hers.

Cornelia paints in acrylic & oil on canvas and wood.
Another method she uses is block printing-linoleum carvings pressed with ink on various mediums such as paper, organza & wood. This
way creating one of a kind prints.

Statement

For me creating art is the most powerful form of self expression and relaxation.
It's my "brain-drain" and when I paint time stands still and I feel at peace.
My inspiration is everyday-life experiences and relationships.
I want to celebrate LIFE, LOVE, NATURE and THE HUMAN BODY in any shape or form.
